About the author
a little moonlit corner of the internet, just for you
Who I am
I'm M. G. Prewitt — your resident aspiring YA author who likes to live it up in the moonlight just a little. I've been building intricate worlds of lore and wonder for nearly two decades now, and I plan to continue for many to come.
I live with my beloved partner and my wannabe familiar: Holly, a very pretty tuxedo kitty who is deeply unimpressed by my writing process but graciously keeps my lap warm regardless.
Faith & craft
My paganism and the journey to find it influences a great deal of my writing. It touches the gods and pantheons I create, shapes how I write religion and religious trauma, and colours how I see the modern world entire.
“When you're outnumbered by trees your perspective shifts.” — Jessica Marie Baumgartner
I am primarily a worshiper of Artemis, though I also give offerings and ask for guidance from Hades, Hekate, and Brigid. Beyond devotion, I am a tarot card reader, a spellcrafter, and a witch — and all of that finds its way into my stories, one way or another.
The deities I walk beside:
- Artemis — goddess of the hunt, the moon, and the wild
- Hades — lord of the underworld and keeper of souls
- Hekate — goddess of magic, crossroads, and liminal spaces
- Brigid — goddess of fire, healing, and poetry
A few things about me
- Favorite book: The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton — a story I return to like a worn-out paperback friend.
- Favorite folklore: Appalachian Skinwalkers — there's something about the deep woods that never lets go.
- Resident familiar: Holly, a senior tuxedo cat who has strong opinions about where I sit and when I sleep.
- Hobbies: Experimenting in the kitchen, crocheting & knitting, and diamond painting.
- Collections: Bottlecaps, macabre curiosities, and an ever-growing wishlist of animal bones and books.
- Favorite video game: Fallout 4 — yes, I have opinions about the ending. No, I won't elaborate.
